- In South Gironde on the border of the Landes forest, at the gates of the Sauternes vineyards and the medieval town of Bazas, the Villandraut campsite, recently nicknamed the Camping des Fous du Château, is strategically located 45 minutes from Bordeaux and one hour from Arcachon Bay . For this new 2023 season, from April 8, Kévin and Gini will welcome you to this campsite which will charm young and old.
  
  For those looking for rest, come and relax in the shade of the pine trees, for the curious the Villandraut castle will amaze more than one and for the more daring, a walk along the Ciron is a must. Around 50 pitches and activities for all tastes : swimming pool, cycle paths, snack bar open to all, bowling alley, motorhome area, July/August activities.

Very friendly new owners, warm welcome on arrival. Campsite was great and good price! All the facilities you could need and all in good condition. I also had an issue where I lost my charging cable on the road, they were quick to help and located the closest supermarket which had stock and gave me directions, all within 10minutes of arrival. Would give more stars if possible, thank you so much, really appreciated!!

This is a wonderful little campsite, perhaps needs some little touches to really bring it up to standard. But our pitch was clear of rubbish, weeds, and debris from the trees. We had easy access to power and the owner even lent us an adapter. The washrooms are clean but basic, not very generous push buttons for water and not that hot but hot enough. Cold water for washing clothes and washing up. A few people seen to live on the site, one was most of the time pretty quiet but one other was a little noisey, a couple of young men playing modern music. But they were very pleasant. Quite close to a busy road, I didn't mind it too much but if you are wanting rural retreat bear that in mind. The swimming pool is not open and I truly can't see it being open by the start of June given today is the 29th May 23. But again I don't mind as I'm not into using the pools. No snack bar on site but very close to a small town with mist things you could want, nothing open on a Sunday afternoon or evening. No security barrier, if that's a concern to you and people do arrive quite late and start pitching perhaps when young people might be getting ready for bed. I would return here as the owners win the prize for most friendly and helpful, and are do wonderful.

New owners are refurbishing loos and showers, lots of hot water and getting snack bar and pool ready for June. Great welcome, lovely woodland pitches, short walk to town with shops, bars, chateau and great riverside restaurant.
