Lac d'Hourtin is a treat for families, as there are few waves and plenty of activities and convenient amenities. Park in the large parking lot nearby. You can walk on the harbor, it's nice. There are restaurants, you can eat an ice cream or a pancake, then go to the beach which is to the left of the port. You can sunbathe there, swim in complete safety, it is supervised. You can also do water sports, because there are lots of great things to do on Lake Hourtin, such as boat rental with or without a license, canoe rental ... A perfect place for families. Don't forget to go for a walk in the very pretty adjoining park, bring your bikes or skateboards!
