This magnificent bridge overlooks the Garonne, linking the two banks. Observe it from afar to appreciate its elegance before taking it. Closed to vehicles since 2018, it is reserved for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. Between 1810 and 1822, Napoleon commissioned the construction of Bordeaux's 1st bridge, 486 m long with 17 arches, an architectural feat by the engineers Deschamps and Billaudel. However, the bridge is showing signs of weakening, and work is scheduled to start in the summer of 2025.
