Château Haut-Grelot The Producers in Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde

 Château Haut Grelot was born in 1920 from a small farm in the village of “Les Grelots”. My great-grandfather and my grandfather established the estate on the cultivation of vines and livestock. In 1927, we obtained the right to draw the well within our buildings which made it possible to unite the estate. This grouping confirmed the birth of Château Haut Grelot and enabled its development. We might not be here today, which is why this year 1927 has a strong symbolism for us. In 1975, Joël Bonneau, my father, took over the family business, focusing it exclusively on growing vines. In 1981, he began direct sales to favor Producer-Consumer contact and devote himself most singularly to your request. During the last 30 years, he has enlarged the vineyard by selecting quality grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot for the red grape varieties.

A pioneer in viticultural techniques, he endeavored to modernize production tools, work in harmony with nature and share his passion with you.

Today, Château Haut Grelot totals 67 hectares. Céline and I work together to perpetuate the quality of the wines and the image of Château Haut Grelot.

We believe in a balance between innovation and tradition. Although our cellar has state-of-the-art equipment and technology, we remain very attached to traditional grape varieties through the diversity of the terroirs of our vineyard. To express the authenticity of our wines, we take care to preserve the artisanal and natural side of the vinification. Today, we work part of our vineyard in organic farming, which allows us to reason our cultural practices.
