  • English
    • Pauillac is a real gem for wine lovers and those curious about culture. Located on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, this town is the capital of the Médoc Viticole. It is world-renowned for its exceptional red wines. We note in particular its three prestigious premier crus classés in 1855:

      • Chateau Lafite Rothschild
      • Chateau Latour
      • Chateau Mouton Rothschild

      Why is Pauillac so special?

      An exceptional terroir

      The Pauillac terroir, composed of gravel and clay, offers ideal conditions for growing vines and producing powerful and elegant wines. Its aromas have notes of black fruits, spices and undergrowth.

      A rich wine heritage

      The town is home to many wine chateaux, some of which are architectural gems. You can:

      • Visit the estates;
      • Discover the secrets of winemaking;
      • Taste the wines in a magnificent setting.

      An authentic charm

      Pauillac has managed to preserve its unique and maritime character. Head out into the city's streets to visit the Saint-Martin church. Also admire the marina and enjoy the view of the estuary.

      A refined gastronomy

      Pauillac's restaurants offer quality cuisine, showcasing local produce and regional wines.

    Lots of information available. Chateaux to visit were recommended. Very helpful staff who spoke English when they realised how bad our French was.
