    • Castelmoron d'Albret, in the Entre-deux-Mers region, is a unique commune, which is well worth a visit.

      The smallest commune in France

Did you know? Castelmoron d'Albret holds a very special record: it is the smallest town in France ! With only 3.5 hectares, it is smaller than the Place Charles-de-Gaulle in Paris. But since everything that is small is cute, it is full of charm.

      A rich heritage

Castelmoron d'Albret was the seat of a seneschal's court under the Ancien Régime. Its architectural heritage is remarkable, with entrance doors decorated with imposing ironwork forged by the famous ironworker Blaise Charlut.

      A preserved medieval village

The village is built on a rocky escarpment and offers a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area. Its narrow, cobbled streets and steep staircases transport you back to the Middle Ages.

The castle town is particularly picturesque with its many old houses. The Notre-Dame church, restored in the 19th century, and the ancient grain market complete this medieval picture.

The commune is called Castelmoron d'Albret to distinguish it from its neighbour in Lot et Garonne, Castelmoron du Lot.
