André Lurton family: Values & know-how

At Vignobles Famille André Lurton, we proudly affirm our status as committed vineyards. Our commitment is to produce wines that reflect their terroirs, with the greatest respect for the environment and people. Our environmental, social and societal (CSR) approaches are based on 4 pillars:

      • To preserve the environment,
      • Contribute to the well-being of our employees,
      • Participate in the dynamism of our region
      • Living in harmony with our residents.

A wine history dating back more than 700 years .

If the first vines were planted around 1310, the know-how in viticulture dates from the 17th century and was transmitted by the monks of the Grande Chartreuse de Bordeaux, skilful winegrowers and fine winemakers.

Today's people have inherited these ancestral techniques and have been able to bring that hint of innovation and modernity necessary to enhance the character of this exceptional terroir.

Château La Louvière, the timeless heritage

Located a few kilometers south of Bordeaux, Château La Louvière is one of the properties of the André Lurton Family Vineyard.

Purchased in 1965 by André Lurton, the property is a precious family heirloom.

Nestled in its green setting and classified as a Historic Monument since 1991, the castle will seduce you with its authenticity. This is where the Pessac-Léognan story begins, an appellation created in 1987 under the leadership of André Lurton.

A magical place where the values instilled by André Lurton are revealed: conviviality, exchange, respect for the land and traditions.

The property produces high quality red and white wines which are among the best-known Bordeaux wines.

Ambassador of the art of living, always welcoming and accessible, the castle offers tours and tastings. A boutique is also dedicated to wine lovers.

Just 20 minutes from the center of Bordeaux, come and enjoy a simple and warm welcome in an exceptional setting

We had a great tour , our guide was a young well english speaking student of vine craft. Very knowledgeable , she patiently guided us and answered all the questions. Also no hard selling push- the enjoyment was key. Thanks we enjoyed out time.

Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and tour! Learned a lot about the wine making process and was able to see the process first hand. I would recommend a visit to anyone.

My wife and I visited La Louvière on the 27th July, we had a truly outstanding time. We reserved the 1 1/2 hour tour, our tour guide was Louise, and she was gracious enough to conduct most of the tour in English for me. I learned more in that hour and a half than I knew in total before the visit. Coupled with the excellent wines (!) this tour is most strongly recommended. As Louise explained, optimum time for visiting is August through October when production is in process and one can see the machines and workers in action. Louise made us feel most welcome, and was exceedingly patient with our questions Well Done!
