    •  Perched on the heights of Saint-Emilion, Château de Ferrand Grand Cru Classé is a historic and family property of 42 hectares including 10 hectares of parks, woods and meadows.

In this single-unit wine property with a total surface area of 32 hectares of vines, the teams attach paramount importance to the quality of the wines but also to respect for the environment. Each plot is worked differently depending on its potential and individual characteristics (soil, grape variety, planting year, etc.), and no herbicide has been used on the estate for more than a generation.

In the process of organic conversion since the 2021 vintage, the property has been certified Terra Vitis since 2012, HVE level 3 since 2018 and ISO 14001 since 2021. Within the estate, the fauna and flora coexist in perfect harmony with the vines, in a preserved ecosystem made up of woods, a vegetable garden and a listed park where the property's bees produce their honey!

Faithful and consistent with the wines of the Saint-Émilion appellation, Château de Ferrand has a garnet color and an intense nose of ripe and spicy fruits. The attack on the palate is frank, the tannins are coated. The evolution is towards notes of very ripe red fruits, blackcurrant, raspberries, blueberries, and a long and elegant finish. Working towards greater roundness and precision while retaining its elegance and freshness, the Ferrand team imprints a style revealing the potential of this vineyard.

Château de Ferrand is today hailed as one of the most promising wines of Saint-Émilion.

The great wine, Château de Ferrand Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Emilion, combines elegance, freshness and smoothness. The property's second wine, Le Different de Château de Ferrand, comes from the same terroirs and benefits from the qualitative requirements of its elder. It can be enjoyed young, its finesse and aromatic elegance make it a pleasant wine to drink in all circumstances.

We stopped by Chateau de Ferrand for a tasting and tour of the vineyards. I was a little disappointed by the lack of wines we tasted. The tour started out pretty nice, we saw the vineyards and got to visit the storage facilities. Very impressive the size of the entire Chateau. Not much history was revealed either. . Just basic information was given. Once we got inside of the Chateau a quick glance at the bottles and vats where the wine was stored. The tasting only included 2 wines and they reused the same glass. What made this Tasting a huge disappointment was how long it took to get there. It seemed they weren’t ready for our group as 5 employees stood around waiting for someone to say something. I was shocked and surprised they used the same glass twice without cleaning. No food or snacks were served as well. At the end of the tour they seemed more interested in trying to sell items from there gift shop. Very disappointing as I know of this Vineyard and was excited to come visit. The history and beauty of this Chateau is very impressive. Too bad the tour guide was lacking luster.

Anna provided us with an amazing tour. She was knowledgeable about the property, the wine, and the different methods undertaken during the harvest. We're already planning a return visit with friends and family!
