    • Located in the very heart of Saint-Émilion, Clos des Menuts has superb medieval monolithic cellars-among the most beautiful in the village-at a constant temperature of 12°. There reigns a “religiosity” conducive to the aging of these great wines in oak barrels. They are dotted with old medieval grain silos, which constitute a very popular stopover for the many visitors to the medieval city. The cellars can be visited and a reception and tasting room is open all year round to the delight of wine lovers. You will have the opportunity to taste our estate wines.

Clos des Menuts is both a fine and full-bodied wine, with a rich and delicate sap, and superb length on the palate. From the first years, the complex aromas of vanilla and blackcurrant develop pleasantly. After longer aging, a subtle bouquet dominates, where power and finesse combine. Like any grand cru from Saint-Émilion, it should be tasted at a temperature of around 18°.

A free wine cellar tour that was a fun experience, cool to see the different vintages being aged and how cool the cellar stays.

This place is an absolute travesty of an establishment. We were instructed by the tourism office that this was one of two wineries within Saint Émilion that offered tastings. With this information we expected a busy, vibrant venue filled with people tasting wine and enjoying a cool cellar. What we found was an anything but. The joint was empty, aside from the most uninterested and rude server I have ever come across. We asked to do a tasting, and were offered two drabs of wine for 10€ each. A joke. The first wine was a disgrace to the region, a wine so bad, that we decided to leave without finishing the tasting. Do not waste your time here, it’s shockingly bad.

You can go to their big cellar to see their collection of wines from 1959 til 2019. You will walk in alone with no guide. Can be quite eerie and dark.
