  Built in the Middle Ages, this Benedictine abbey is located on a timeless site. Located on the paths of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, it presents famous capitals and sculpted decorations. A landscape that invites you to take a break in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers, very close to Bordeaux.

On this Sunday, November 24, I went to visit the Abbey. The weather was cool with wind but no rain. After taking my ticket, my son did not pay because it was free for those under 26!!! A large laminated guide allows you to follow the visit at your own pace. The highlight is the climb up the tower and these 157 steps of a narrow spiral staircase. Once at the top, the 360° panorama is magnificent. The museum concludes the visit. Despite the gloomy weather, there is no equivalent with the 100 Years' War or the fires which ravaged the structure of which some beautiful elements still remain. It's a beautiful place to discover or re-discover, which was my case, with my family. Maintenance and renovation are there for this place which is worth the detour.

Very interesting but I recommend the guided tour. Without the guide's comments, I would undoubtedly have missed many details. It’s a real medieval comic book in carved stone!
