    • Castillon Pujols Tourist Office, the village of Rauzan

This charming town is located in Entre-Deux-Mers, east of Gironde less than an hour from Bordeaux, at the crossroads between Saint-Emilion and Sauveterre de Guyenne, between Garonne and Dordogne, between past and present.

      Rauzan, from past to present

This small village of 1,200 inhabitants might seem unpretentious if it had not won the lottery of History and made the duty of transmission its hobby horse. Rauzan is indeed endowed with a very rich historical heritage

The Tourist Office offers you a visit (free or guided) to the Château de Rauzan , witness to the Hundred Years' War, whose different phases of construction extend from the end of the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. A medieval fortified castle that has become a castle-residence over the centuries, linked to the names of great men such as Jean Sans-Terre, Bertrand du Guesclin and Léo Drouyn.

It is at the famous Antiques-Brocante Village of Rauzan that past and present converge. All year round from Wednesday to Sunday, you can find an original gift, enhance your interior decoration or stroll in search of hidden treasures!

      Rauzan, between nature and heritage

To reconcile nature and history, hiking trails will take you through the moat of the castle, the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre de Rauzan, sail through vineyards, fields and forests, to the dolmen of Curton, dating from the Neolithic, in the neighboring municipality.

The Les Caves de Rauzan wine cooperative will offer you a wide choice of the famous Bordeaux nectar from nearly 300 winegrowers committed to sustainable development.

Finally, it is truly underground that Rauzan will reveal his most impressive secret to you: the Celestine Cave, an underground river from the Quaternary. Accessible in the heart of the village by reservation at the Tourist Office, it will welcome the most curious and courageous among you!

As you can see, Rauzan has more than one trick up his sleeve, and more than one secret to reveal ...

      Around Rauzan

Download the Guide to Romanesque Churches here and explore the surroundings of Rauzan through several visiting circuits. Each village has its church, each village has its charm... In Ruch, take a moment to admire the Ausone tower, this small manor from the end of the 15th century which now houses the town hall.

You can continue your walk by strolling through the newly constructed arboretum, in the heart of the village of Sainte-Florence. In the spirit of preserving biodiversity, this 1 hectare park will allow you to discover more than 60 species of trees and shrubs.

In the heart of Pujols Castle, the town hall wine library offers you a free escape game throughout the summer on the theme “The Mystery of the Winegrower” which will delight lovers of treasure hunts!

This territory, rich in a unique heritage, will reveal itself during your escapades and will certainly surprise you!

Ophélie welcomed us in a very professional and friendly manner within the tourist office. She was able to adapt to our situation in order to provide us with the most appropriate advice, not hesitating to take time and make phone calls. A big thank you to you, who helped to transform a somewhat incredible situation into a good memory of this charming town that is Rauzan. 😊

The municipality does not wish to receive campervans (municipal order), we did not consume anything and visited nothing Damage So I don't post a photo so as not to advertise
