Terr'a Safran Visits and Tastings in Nérigean

Terr'a Safran is a family farm where we produce natural safran to Nérigean, 15 min from Saint-Emilion !

We are winegrower-cooperator on 26 hectares of vines since 5 generations by leading our vines in a sustainable way and 1000M² of natural saffron cultivation.

You can find a vintage "Château Les Prênes" from our best plots in our shop on the property.

We have created the saffron culture since 2013 to diversify our operation.

This saffron culture, also known as "red gold", is made from Crocus Sativus, which is the only flower that produces a spice in our region !

We work with passion to produce a saffron with pure and delicate stigmas, 100% natural (grown of course without pesticides). Everything is done by hand, from planting to harvesting. Do not hesitate to come and visit us during the flowering period (October-November) to discover the different stages of this local spice! We are open to groups of hikers, schoolchildren or individuals (Free visit by appointment during the week or on weekends).

This culture is part of our history, of our ancestral recipes; you will find links with this almost forgotten spice, which is used more and more today, because it is an enhancer of unforgettable taste when you have tasted the saffron madeleines for example during the tasting.

I therefore invite you to the journey of the discovery of the "red gold" made in Nérigean, made in Gironde, made in France !
