Château Bastor-Lamontagne The Producers in Preignac

The Château Bastor-Lamontagne vineyard is located in Preignac, one of the five communes of the Sauternes appellation and occupies 51 hectares in one piece on a magnificent silico-gravelly terroir giving the wines produced there a lot of sap and vigor.

The estate owes its name to the Chevalier de la Montaigne, advisor to the parliament of Bordeaux who owned it in 1711. Bastore was already an important estate in the 18^th century, but the real growth of the wine was the work in the 19 ^th century of Amédée Larrieu who was also the owner of Château Haut-Brion in Pessac. The Château is surrounded by a 6-hectare park enclosed by walls and protecting tree species contributing to biodiversity.

At Château Bastor-Lamontagne, the expression of fruit and harmony have always been favored: often described as “modern Sauternes”, the wines have finesse, balance and freshness making them pleasant to drink at any time.
