    • At the gates of Bordeaux, between Dordogne and Garonne, Entre-deux-Mers seduces you from the start with the serene beauty of its landscapes. The relief envelops you in its folds. It carries a small galaxy of small towns, with its myriad of wine-growing areas, castles, rural buildings, belvederes, and those jewels of medieval town planning that are the bastides, those checkerboard towns and arcades.

In season, the roads are brightened up with tasting cellars, open-air markets, village events and festivals.
It is an ocean of vines where the whole range of Bordeaux wines is represented. Here, the wines are simple and generous, the winegrowers welcome you in all modesty and share with you the pleasure of the products resulting from the work of their vines.
The Bordeaux hinterland conceals many treasures to be unearthed. Nestled in their green setting, a host of small Romanesque churches and illustrious abbeys await you. In the cities or in the middle of the vineyard, randomly on the small roads you will discover the fortified water or wind mills , the medieval, Renaissance or classical castles...
Entre-deux-Mers has managed to preserve the memory of stones. Its monuments tell a story embellished by the centuries.

Away from the main traffic arteries, the Bordeaux hinterland makes you feel wanderlust. Country roads, cycle paths, botanical paths or bushy paths invite you to linger.

Both unique in its appearance and so diverse in its features, the face of Entre-deux-Mers takes shape over its territories: The Portes de Bordeaux, the countries of Créon, Cadillac, Sauveterre-de-Guyenne and Targon, La Reole, Monsegur. Each of these municipalities and their surrounding countries has its own tone and contributes to the harmony of the whole.

Around La Réole... History is before us

      The rich hours in heritage

From medieval streets to the splendours of the classical era, the past takes shape and unfolds under your feet.

Just take the steep alleys of La Réole to go back in time. From the half-timbered houses to the 18th century ironwork of the Benedictine monastery , passing through the medieval and Renaissance decorations of the old Town Hall, History is before you.

Nearby, the master tile makers of Gironde-sur-Dropt will introduce you to centuries-old craftsmanship.. . In the Garonne plain, the pretty village of Pondaurat welcomes you, you will be charmed by its medieval bridge and its old commandery.

If you pass in mid-August on the southern bank of the Garonne, observe the tobacco dryers in the plain and listen carefully: comic operas and lyrical recitals are given on the shaded square of the village of Barie.

Closure due to broken heating. This is the first time I've seen this. It is a shame to deprive yourself of a tourist and economic attraction even in winter

Tourist office which gives a poor welcome to visitors: total absence of hello or smile or welcome, no contact established, the visitor is in self-service. Surprising and a shame in view of the mission of an OT, of a city which is trying to develop its attractiveness and in comparison with other places. Local products are offered but little value, some are damaged probably due to the heat. QRcode available for a self-guided city tour, self-service maps, documentation. Added on 08/24 Thank you for your response and your good efforts because I am not the only one to have made this observation.
